Anyone here have any success with this?

Are there any place in the BR area that can actually do this?

I've tried the stuff in the auto stores that have a pad that you attach to your drill but, that didn't help even a little bit.

Deet on a sock, which is a little different from my usual suggestion of skeet in a sock

they are roughly $200 each. Although it may come to that. I was hoping to go the restoration route.

I've actually had good luck with that stuff. Maybe you headlights are more severe or the discoloration is due to something else.

You have to buy the kit with little sand paper pads, or you could just buy the sand paper on your own. The pads go 800 grit, 1000 grit, 1500, then 2000. You use the 800 grit with water in one direction, then the 1000 in the other, then back to the original direction with the 1500...keep the surface wet. You have to get through all of the pits with the 800 and make sure you go down the same depth everywhere...or at least scuff the whole surface to an 800 grit roughness.

Polish with the ball when you're all done. Takes a long damn time and your hands will hurt, but it works insanely good. Did it to my wife's BMW and they are factory fresh.

I used Wipe New (not the headlight restoration kit but the regular stuff for you vehicle). I used the other kits and they suck but am satisfied with the Wipe New.

The 3M drill kit at Walmart worked great for me. Be sure to use sealer after. So for like $25 and 30 min you can have like new headlights.

Many of the reviews for the kits state they work well for a couple of months and then the headlights revert back to the dull yellow finish. Can anyone comment on long term effect?

I used 3M from auto store, it wasnt the drill kit. It had different grades of pads, worked great.

This is what I did and the kit works fantastic. Every few months I go back over the lights with an orbital buffer and 3M headlight compound (takes a couple of minutes per light).
