I spoke to him on numerous occasions at the museum. His stories were always incredibly interesting. RIP sir.

Is he the one that landed in a cemetery?

RIP Mr. Blakey. Please say hi to my Grandpaw. And you can tell him stories of Europe and he can tell you South Pacific stories.

I just received an email about this. Sad day indeed, .

I'm sorry to have to report that Tom Blakey, a long-term volunteer for the Museum and WWII paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, passed away last night. I thought you might wish to know as many of you met Tom at Heat of Battle, or other visits to the Museum. He was always willing to share his WWII stories with visitors old and young.
One of my greatest enjoyments working here has been meeting, and having a chance to help the public learn from, our WWII veterans. Some of my most difficult days are when I learn that one of them has passed.

Mrs Cove and I were there the weekend that the museum opened. It was awe-inspiring to see that many CMH winners alive and in one place. Such a shame that not many of these guys are around any longer.
RIP, sir.
