If you want a do over you trade the 2013 1st to Toronto to jump Detroit and take Drummond.

What the hell!?!? Now the Celtics are getting a 2013 1st in Bullock and a 2nd for Austin Rivers while he's sitting on his couch not reporting to the team.

And Dell couldn't give this guy away? Dealin Dell fail.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Clippers are the only team that appear interested. Dell may not have wanted to blackmail/bully Doc, Ainge clearly has no problem with it. The funniest part of this whole soap opera were the leaked reports that the FO and coaching staff were telling Doc they needed to go after him

The Suns are getting Reggie Bullock. No one said what the Clippers are doing is smart, they are also apparently giving away Chris Douglas-Roberts to the Celtics, which is kind of weird considering their SF spot is in worse or just as bad of shape as ours.

clips trade marco jaric to minn for a 1st rnd pick
clips trade that pick (+gordon/kaman) to pels for CP3
pels draft rivers with the pick
pels trade rivers/smith to celtics/memphis for QPon & a 2nd
celtics trade rivers to clips for a 2nd rnd pick, CDR & randolph, plus farmar waived & bullock to suns

we should have drafted rivers at 10 and traded him to the clips for bledsoe...as it stands trading bledsoe to the suns COST the clips a 1st rnd pick

On paper it sounds ok, but the last thing we need is close to 30m tied up in 2 injury prone hybrid guards. Bledsoe just signed a 5yr/70. Good god no thank you.

Sources: Clippers sign Austin Rivers to a 5-year, $120 million extension.

This is almost certainly true. *fingers crossed*

shite. Why didn't Demps just send Rivers to LAC for Bullock? Crazy the Clips gave a rookie contract wing away for Austin freaking Rivers.

You can still work out QPon with Salmons and Babbitt/Ajinca.

Three guards, Bullock, Pondexter, Cunningham, and three bigs is cooking.

Because nice guys finish last. Demps has always looked more for win win trades than fleece another GM trade. Based on not being able to dump Rivers last year and the Pels having to insist Rivers go in this trade, I don't think there was a team in the league that actually wanted Rivers. Ainge probably called up Doc and said "I'm going to cut Austin and he'll be out of the league unless you trade me for him." With Monty and Doc being IRL BFFs that talk regularly, that could get a bit awkward if we did it.

Is Doc really going full retard? I'll believe this trade when it actually happens.

Maybe if Doc had taken the time to fix his son's shot he wouldn't be in this mess. Guilt is a powerful motivator. Steph Curry is what Rivers should be with the resources he had access to.

Oddly enough, the parallels between the Warriors and the Clippers agree with this statement as well.

Also, this...HOLY CRAP

quote:

But in a year-and-a-half Rivers has now given up Bledsoe, Butler, Dudley, Farmar, Bullock, Douglas-Roberts, a first round pick, and a second round pick, and all he has to show for it is J.J. Redick and now Austin Rivers.

Not to mention with all these poor moves he also gave Spencer Hawes the MLE and he has been a bad fit.

They should trade Hawes to Sacramento for Stauskas. It's funny that Sacramento is already putting it's 1st rounder on the block.

Yeah that would be a move I would do, Spencer Hawes for Nik Stauskas and Ramon Sessions would be a trade that is somewhat realistic and would benefit both teams in a way.

But on another note it annoys me how involved Vivek is in basketball operations. They fired Malone for no good reason and the team has been bad under Ty Corbin (no surprise there). Also I don't know if you saw the Grantland video about the Kings' draft selection for the 2014 draft, but man it really feels like they only selected Stauskas because Vivek wanted him. LINK
