Just did about a 30 mile loop. The thaw is definitely on. Looks like most fields are either open or down to a light skim of ice with lots of open spots. Should start getting good quick. Looks like you'll be staying about 2 miles from where I killed my biggest buck so far. Just let me know if you need anything.

As far as waldenburg, I think Poinsett county is the duck capitol of AR. If anyone in the state has ducks it will be there.

I'm in a club in waldenburg, been a pretty slow year until the past two days. Tons of ducks moved in. Mostly spoonies, but plenty of big ducks mixed in too

I will be 2hr south in Clarendon at my farm, just checking for a quick update.

ETA: Good Luck

My son and I were at our place in Almyra last weekend. Had to bust the ice on Saturday and only shot a few smilies and 3 teal. Probably go back the last weekened. Where is your farm in Clarendon?

After a trip Macks (only $125) and wal marks ($300) and unpacking, we got settled about 10:30. Talked to the guide last night and they've been having better shoots later in the day. So he is picking us up around noon and we'll be headed out to make our first hunt.

I had a setback and didnt get into the blind until 3:30.

Ducks thick around Hazen to Des Arc.

I had geese all over the other end of my farm, got 1 speck.

Had some ducks around but they were very shy and landing in my ditch in the buckbrush.

Back at it in the morning

ETA: Highcotton, I am about 8 miles down 79 from main Clarendon.

We seen tons of ducks and geese. Only had one group of mallards work for us but wouldn't finish. 3 mallards came in as we was packing up and was literally 5' above my sons head. But at usual guns were unloaded.

Missed it by a couple days. I've seen a few thousand flying over my backyard just when I would step out to smoke. Nonstop birds on the drive to church this am.
