I don't think we would be 1 but I'd say a 2-3 seed would be likely.
I think the 1 seed was an exaggeration on my part to say how stupid it is to say we need to win out and we aren't even halfway done with conference play.

Yea. I still think 11 wins gets us in. If we can get to 13 wins, we are looking at a 5 or 6 seed.

other bubble teams
so you're calling lsu a bubble team? because if you are, that means the margin for error is narrow - exactly what i've been saying all along. that is a far cry from "great position"

Still have 6 more games vs top 50 teams before the SEC Tournament
you're still missing the point. it's not just lsu's opponents. it's lsu's opponents vs the opponents of rpi teams in front of lsu from other conferences. the sec is improved yes. but it's not demonstrably better than the acc, b1g, big12 etc. the teams from those conferences that are ahead of or near lsu in the rpi still have ranked/high rpi opportunities. lsu does not have that. that means lsu's margin for error is more narrow than theirs. with lsu dropping games against a&m types, that makes lsu's case questionable.

look at georgia. they have a significantly higher sos, are ahead of lsu and have a comparable record. their margin for error is much better than lsu's and they're in the same conference.

a top 50 RPI that's not too bad of a loss
the point is lsu probably can't afford any more of those given the already weak sos.

11-7 will get us into the NCAA tourney (22-9). That should be good for 3rd place. I do not see the NCAA leaving 12 SEC teams at home.

They are good shape, but still have much more work to do. Still inconsistent and turn the ball over too much. Lost to probably the second worst team in the SEC a week ago. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Totally agree. Consistency is something that good teams accomplish and LSU hasn't shown it yet.

even if that's true, i'm having trouble pinning down 8 wins in the next 13 games.

You must be calling Joe Lunardi a dumbasse because he has us in the tourney as of today We go 12-6 or better we have a GREAT chance. 11-7 and 10-8 then were on bubble considering if we have any more quality wins

isn't always right.

just look at the numbers. lsu has an unimpressive sos, even with @wva and an improved sec. the mizzou loss is outside the top 100 which is very bad. the vandy win is a relief but they're about to be outside the top 100 so the committee is going to view these types of games as merely taking care of business.

it's not about the record. it's about the rpi, sos, quality wins, bad losses. good job genius. and you're laughing at me

i think lsu gets really close but just outside. next week is significantly easier so, that could be the week.

If we go 12-6 in sec I'm sure our rpi will be below 30

why? honest question. Who, outside of KY, is good in the SEC? The West is a joke. Alabama/Auburn both are bad, TAM beat us, but is not a good team, State and Ole Miss are not good, and Arkansas is not good either. In the East, Vandy is not good, Missouri is awful, Florida is down, SC no, Georgia and Tenn are to be determined, and KY is great. I'm not sure where all this SEC is improved is coming from. Outside of KY, there is no team that is capable of making a deep run.

I'm not hating, but all this "we will be ranked crap" is meaningless. We have several areas we need to drastically improve in for us to be considered a dangerous team in the tourney. The WVA win was a good win, but they damn near lost to TCU yesterday, and were destroyed against Texas. Before it's over, I'm not sure that win looks great. If LSU wants to gain respect, they are going to have to play Kentucky extremely well.

There are no divisions in SEC basketball

ETA: WVU damn near lost but they didn't which matters and Texas Tech beat #9 Iowa State yesterday and we beat them.

True, but most people mentally divide up the SEC like the East/West football divisions, regardless of whatever other sport they're talking about. I do the same thing.

Well our RPI is 37 now and there is a few top 50 RPI teams on our schedule. 3 that I know of that are below 30.
