Gotta watch the Antonio blakely documentary on YouTube! YouTube Antonio blakely be great. These 2 guys Ben Simmons and Antonio blakely are gonna bring LSU to the final four next year! No doubt in my mind. Very high character guys with supreme talent who just want to be the best and win. Period. Their attitude is infectious. If M&M(Martin and Mickey) both come back for next year( slim chance) LSU can win a national championship in basketball! No doubt. Even without Martin and Mickey, LSU will have Simmons, Blakely, Quarterman, Gray, Hornsby, Robinson, Victor, Patterson. We are stacked! Get excited tiger fans.

The Rant needs practice in rhetoric and analysis skills. This statement must have had a lot of thought put into it. I am sure you can give us the specific reasons as to why they're "garbage" as you say.

LSU basically has five guys that can take over a game this year when they are really on. TQ was no threat at all on offense last year and has made gigantic strides. Hornsby & Gray weren't around, but they can light up the scoreboard as well when they are on. We don't have a deep bench, but if the coaches can teach Martin and Mickey to play aggressive all the time and get Gray to take what is given, LSU could be explosive. The team needs to play tougher D as well. JJ has done a great job of bringing the talent in...we just need to give them a little more on the coaching end at times.

jones hasn't even made the tourney, much less won at least 2 games consistently. and that is with some serious talent last year. the chances of making the tourney this year are getting pretty low, with top 2 talent in the sec. not good at all.

The talent last year doesn't compare with this team. We'll be saying the same thing next season. That's a good thing.

OP you are optimistic that is great, but Alleva even said today we have a couple bad losses! This team has played 4/5 sloppy conference games. They need to play like they did tonight against vandy, auburn, Alabama, miss state and arkansas.

the talent last year was imminently good enough to make the tourney.

the talent this year is top 2 in the sec and the window to make the tourney is very, very, very small. too many bad losses and not enough opportunities to make it up

You're right. Not enough opportunities to get back those terrible losses. A 16-2 conference record would certainly not be enough to get an 11 seed. The window is tightly shut and locked.

14-4, 3-2 in the SEC! Johnny jones has won more games every year he's been here. Most wins than any lsu basketball coach in his 1st 2 years! 19 in his 1st year.

....but doesn't he suck? I mean he lost a game and left 3 time outs on the board!!!

Not a negatiger (especially with basketball) but Florida played a really really bad game. Martin played 39 minutes and Mickey played 35 with 1st half foul trouble. We hit 62% of our 3's and 95% at the free throw line. How often does that happen?

We aren't as good as this game looks and we aren't as bad as the A&M game looked. We can't keep riding the big guys like we are. And we may actually have to match up against someone with more than two forwards!

On a positive note, Hornsby looked great and Martin started out like the star he is. TQ also stayed away from the 3 point line until he was wide open.

And... drum roll please... Coach Jones called a timeout when Florida got within 10 points and 5+ minutes left! I have to imagine that was the first applause given for a run stopping timeout in LSU history.

I Completely agree. I'm hoping for 11-7.

His point was that we don't have enough games remaining to erase 2 bad losses. Thats obviously not true.

you're making my case for me. what are the odds that lsu goes undefeated the rest of the way? nearly impossible, especially as inconsistent as they are. lsu is just inside the top 50 right now but, any more losses and they're off the bubble.
