Federer draw looks rough with some young guns (Coric, krygios, dimitrov) and then Murray and Nadal.

Fed does have a tough draw.

Super bummer for Delpo to draw Janowicz and for Janowicz to draw Delpo.

Rafa quits in tough matches? Somebody hasn't seen him play a fifth set against Federer, it appears

No. Nadal is one of the greatest of all time and rarely loses. My complaint with him is he has almost never had a loss where injury hasn't been the excuse.

And I've seen him whip Fed enough to know he's just owns Fed. I'm talking about those tournaments where he comes in with an injury issue and his camp starts dropping the injury excuses before the tournament starts. He either runs through everyone like a buzz saw and his camp acts shocked because he was soooo injured before the tournament or goes through more than 1/2 of the draw with ease, but then has that one tough match and all of a sudden, he starts looking uncomfortable on the court and the "injury" becomes the excuse.

I think your theory about his camp dropping injury stuff for the purpose of using them as excuses if he eventually loses is ridiculous.

I think your theory that "he has almost never had a loss where injury hasn't been the excuse" is even more ridiculous.

Like certainly you don't actually believe this. So which match are you specifically thinking of and then erroneously projecting as the standard for his entire career? The wawrinka match? I mean, do you think he wasn't injured in that match?

That's fair.

But I think Nadal's constant time violations are ridiculous.

I think Uncle Toni's comments that Nadal is being unfairly targeted with warnings by umpires for time violations is ridiculous. Rules are rules - follow them.

I think Nadals and Toni's complaints about how long the hard court season is are ridiculous.

Same with their complaints tat it's not fair that the World Tour Final is played on indoor hard courts.

Same for Uncle Toni saying he wished Federer and Djoker would get injured.

The same for one of the greatest of all time constantly getting coached during matches by Toni.

And, most of all, the injuries. No, I don't think he's faked ALL of his injuries, but many are suspect given the frequency he has called for medical time outs when the opponent has the advantage. And then there are the excuses that follows in the days after losses. It has happened a lot with Nadal. He now has this reputation and its for this reason that the Australian Open fans started to boo him vs Wawrinka. Maybe his back was truly injured in that match, but the fans simply tired of it and they showed their displeasure with his actions -people are tired of him playing the injury card when he's down.

Why did Melbourne switch from Rebound Ace to the slower surface few years ago?

I think it was basically six inches of rubber on top of cement, was slightly melting in the high temps, and players were blowing out their ankles everywhere.

Matches are about to start on espn3.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Coric pull off an upset of Chardy in the opening round.

Roscoe is spot on with the injury nonsense from his camp. It is a complaint throughout the locker room as well

Ivanovic may be the first top 5 seed to go down, lost 2nd set 3-6 and just got broke down 1-3 now in the 3rd.

Typical Ivanovic in the majors losing before she should. Hradecka is really good doubles player but should have been wiped off the court by Ivanovic in singles.
