Lost my card between now and last year. Need the card as I'm applying for a loan. The SS website isn't helping with what I need to provide.

One paragraph says "Get a certified copy of a document showing a birth, marriage or divorce that took place in the U.S."

Another paragraph says "We can accept only certain documents as proof of identity. An acceptable document must be current (not expired) and show your name, identifying information (date of birth or age) and preferably a recent photograph. For example, as proof of identity Social Security must see your:
•U.S. driver's license;
•State-issued non-driver identification card; or
•U.S. passport.

Any help here?

just bring every form of identification you can get your hands on...be damn sure it includes a certified copy of your birth certificate and a drivers license and you should be good...

I need to mail it in; they allow the replacement form and documents to be mailed in.
