one thing getting lost is...we might have the best position coaches on the defensive side of the ball at their respective positions in the SEC. Since this is who actually coaches the players...it's pretty damn awesome.

steele Lbers
raymond db's
ed O line

no more missed tackles..getting off blocks..excellent coverage etc.

Im really excited. Losing chavis was addition by subtraction in 2 regards..he doesn't recruit..and lber play has been less then inspiring for several years. I will give chavis last year though...they played very well.

Yes, they looked pretty good, except at the end of games and at Arkansas and Mississippi State and Auburn and Ole Miss and Notre Dame.

But other than that, Chavis looked solid.

Yep, great defensive coaching on this staff. Just have to hope Steele can put it all together on the field in Saturday.

I think there will be more collaboration with this group than there was with Chavis. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

Pretty subjective on a game by game basis, but I get what you are saying. Just slight improvement in the above areas will be extremely noticeable.

Agreed. I'm always shocked by the sheer number of LB's we sign that don't pan out. Either his talent evaluation sucked or he just looked at measurables ie height, weight, speed.

Agree I expect the coaches on d to have more input. I don't expect to see the defense play tight at the end of halves now. Let er rip!
