Why Don't We See More Females with "Jr." or "Sr." suffixes These Days
Posted by SUB on 1/14/15 at 2:48 pm03
You'd think that after all the feminist movements and more and more women not taking their husbands names, that this would also follow suit? Do women just hate the idea of living with another woman with the same name? What gives?

It is improper for females to have "Jr." and "Sr." on their names. Both are considered to be masculine suffixes.
A woman named after her mother is called a "Second" (and you spell it out) or "The Younger" or simply uses the same name.
It is suggested that a female child have a different middle name than the mother to avoid this issue.

Get this: A corn-fed harvest mouse, a hooker, a nun, a Flemish peasant woman, whips, chains, whistles yo-yo's, a circus midget. My grandmother riding by on a bicycle give me the finger, and a duck!

It was actually common in the 18th and 19th century. You occasionally still see it, but it's not customary any more.

I'm the IVth. I feel sorry for the little bastard who gets to be V.

It drives me crazy when athletes put Jr. or Sr. or III on their jerseys. That's not part of your last name.
There's a rule that says only your last name can be on a jersey? You can put whatever the hell you want on there.
