I'm a big fan but I think I am done. I defend Microsoft all of the time but it is a fact that they totally botched the purchase of Nokia.

They had 1 flagship phone in 2014 and it was chained to Verizon.

Now the rumor is that there will not be another flagship 8 phone and we will have to wait until the END of 2015 for a top notch phone when Windows 10 is ready.

See ya. As much as I like my 920, I've been waiting a damn year to upgrade and now I have to wait another year? No thanks.

If I hate the Nexus 6, I'll come back at a later date but for now, I'm tapping out.

WTF? Windows Phone is the simplest mobile there is

and yea Microsoft is botching the hell out of Windows Phone. I'm a huge fan of Windows Phone and having phones be carrier exclusives is fricking stupid

That was Nokia not Microsoft although it is possible they will continue on with that practice.

Nokia allowing AT&T to remove Qi and drop the 32gb to 16gb on the 1520 was a bad move. If that phone had QI I would have bought it a year ago.

Now it is old tech with the same issues of no QI and only 16gb.

Microsoft should have made sure before the purchase that there would be a full slate of upgrades in 2014 and early 2015.

If I am willing and eager to jump ship then they have clearly made a big mistake.

Cool OS, terrible app selection

My sentiments exactly. If the wife wasn't so used to WP I'd have gotten her an Android phone for Christmas. It really is just so simple to use lol. Too bad they let it stagnate.

I gave the Icon a chance for a year. It was cool, but the limited app selection for Windows phone and the quality of apps they did have were killers. I went back to Android after the 1st year.

I know we covered this in another thread, but I don't get your take. The 920 is running 8.1. 8.1 looks and acts like 8.1. What does a new device give you?

That's bad? Who wants a new 8.1 phone the year the 10s come out?

Oh, and I don't find the app selection lacking, but then again, I am old.

And as I said in the other thread, I want a larger screen which is why I mentioned the 1520.

Also, from what I have read, the 920 can't use all of the features available for the next software update.

Me. How hard is it to understand they didn't upgrade in 2014 so I already went 1 year without a better phone that what I have?

How hard is it to understand I don't want to wait until the end of 2015 to upgrade. By the way, there is no guarantee the Windows 10 phone will definitely be available at that point.

I agree that the app selection isn't remotely as bad as people claim. Most of the top android and apple apps are now available. Sure people who try tons of apps all the time might prefer android or apple but the average user should be able to find just about anything they need.

Terribly hard. If you want bigger, they have bigger. I was asking questions dude. You don't have to get mad. I honestly don't understand where you are coming from.

Again, terribly. What would the upgrade be? Size?

Yup. It's almost as bad as an LSU footbal false narrative.

Can you read? The only phablet is the 1520 which is over a year old (November 2013), doesn't have Qi and I have 3 Qi charging pads and it only has 16gb of storage. The 1520 is a piece of crap.

Not to mention the 1520 had problem with the screen / touch sensitivity.

Waiting 2 years for any update in the flagship phone is a disaster and you are being a knucklehead if you don't see that.

Pretty much 99% of the articles out there right now are bashing Windows for waiting until the end of 2015 to issue a new flagship phone.

I'm glad you love your old phone. I don't. I want a new phone and I doubt I am the only windows phone fan moving on because they dropped the ball for 2 years.

Yes I am.

They have bigger than 920 tha tis not 1520. You're being obtuse.

You keep saying this, but yet can't state exactly why. Again, what need is there for an update?

And what is stated about the things missing from the 920?

I want a new phone
Yet can't explain why. Sounds like you want a phablet which is an entirely different conversation.

Do you know what an operating system is?

BTW, this is really fun. I hope you don't get too mad at me.

You are either a troll or plain stupid. I mentioned the 1520 in my post. It is a phablet. I want one. I've said over and over I want a bigger screen. I want the biggest screen.

I've stated that the Denim update will NOT be fully functional on the 920.

You are the one being obtuse or a troll. Market share actually dropped and it dropped because they continue to lag behind ALL other options in the SPEC war. It might not matter to you but plenty of people upgrade their phone yearly. Even more upgrade at the end of their contract and right when all of the 920 users have ended their contract, there isn't a better phone available 2 years later.

That is a failure and you are a moron if you can't see it. I don't have to explain why people upgrade technology. They do and when something new isn't available, they move on, just like I am doing.

So I was right. You don't even want a 920 replacement.

Right. I get that. What does it bring that you would like?

You really believe that? Hell, you don't even want a phone?

How would you upgrade the 920? Don't say make it bigger because at this point I'm willing to concede that you might not actually be as dumb as you post.

I've had the 920 since it was released and have loved it. The sensor in my headphone jack got stuck and thought I always had headphones plugged in. So I was forced to use speakerphone. I finally ordered a replacement jack from china for $5 and since then it's been working like a champ.

The only thing I would want from a 920 successor is better battery life and to keep the wireless charging. I can barely make it through a day without it dying on me. I think part of it is a software issue. Every so often I find my battery draining rapidly and getting warm when I'm not using it. Restarting my phone seems to fix it.

And as mentioned the app selection meets all of my needs. For the longest time I was missing WatchESPN but now that they've added it, I don't find myself waiting or searching for anything else.

You may have to figure what is running, and limit notifications. This was actually easy with 8 than 8.1. I may just be too dumb to figure it out.

I can't get a good wi-fi signal at work and the constant attempt to get a signal drained the hell out of my battery.

Once I realized this, turning off the wi-fi at work greatly enhanced my batter life.

I loved Windows Phone OS. More fun to use than iOS.

I really liked how it would cycle through photos on the homepage and show my contact's picture when they called.

Maybe iOS can do all of that too and I just haven't figured it out?

People love to say, there are no apps, and then never give it a try.
