You hope I'm being facetious, or that there will be a Great Wall around louisiana?

I believe there will be.

I hope there will be. I see this as a major staff upgrade. We are keeping pace with bama/AU/mich/osu

Yes, Frank Wilson is a solid coach and outstanding recruiter. He certainly is an important coach, perhaps the most important one especially his recruiting ability.

This is along the lines of what you would expect him to say about the hirings of both Steele and Ed O.

While these hires are great for recruiting, I just hope Steele learned something from his Bama years that will help him be a better DC than what he was previously.

Apparently Chavis was lacking organizational skills in addition to 3rd and Chavis.

BeBe sounded like a huge Wilson fan in the presser.

What does this mean? "Organize our defensive boards from top to bottom?" ???? Someone help!

He's talking about recruiting boards, who they have, what positions they need, where are the best players to feel such need, who's they will be losing etc. Create a plan and map, deliver it to the assistants to go get these players.

They've clearly failed to organize DL recruiting. And as of today, our arguably weakest and thinnest position has 1 signed player for 2015....1 DE and NO DT

I don't get it. When did recruiting well matter this much to LSU fans? Doesn't LSU recruit top five every year? When is the last time LSU lacked talent? Seems like a positive spin on a ground rule double hire.

Recruiting well has always mattered. The upside in recruiting is limited because we have recruited well, what this should do is make it more consistent and not lose positions of need. What has to get better is play on the field, most notably QB and DL.

"I'm doing backflips today. Even the most excited LSU fans have no idea what this truly means for the program. Kevin will organize our defensive board from top to bottom, and that's what we needed. Then adding (Orgeron), are you kidding me? (some loud yelling) This staff just became one of the best recruiting groups in the nation. I promise."

This tells me that chavis and brick relied heavily on frank to recruit... Or that they were lazy in recruiting or something, something was going on that we weren't seeing...you don't do back flips when u lose one of the top dc's in the nation...it's obvious that chavis had had enough...maybe there was some friction on the staff or something...

This is probably the most telling and interesting quote of the day. Things were not settled behind the scenes, evidently.

RIght now - if we just get the best kids on the field and have them mentally prepared to beat the fock out of the player on the other side of the line, we will win.
Our defense got clocked against Ms St, AU then 3rd and Chavis blew it against AL and ND.
That is reality regardless of worthless stats against pathetic out of conference teams

Because on the rant, half of the posters don't want "Les" to succeed in any way.... Hiring O and Steele may be what they don't want...success

is that why they were posting positively and hoping for guys who have actually had success as DCs in college football?

That's a great comparison. Swinney was feeling the heat and brought in a similar type of staff makeup. Its worked out well for him too.
