What's easier....?

Taking the high road and supporting the new hire made by your university football team and if it doesn't work out...eat crow??

OR

Complaining and crying like chicken little and when it does work out...eating crow??

Personally I was told about this hire being a very serious possibility about 2 weeks ago. I've come to accept the fact that he was prolly gonna be our DC. You certainly can't expect him to turn down the job once offered. Taking the job isn't his fault. So why bust up on Steele. Plenty of good coordinators have struggled as head coaches. His head coaching record shouldn't be taken into account. This program needed new blood and you got a guy who is thrilled as frick to be here and who can flat out recruit. I'm not saying he's untouchable, but give the guy a chance. He might actually shock you. I mean he hasn't coached a single down as our DC yet and you're hating on him. He's one of us now, he's a tiger...and he should be treated as such. Just my 2 cents

When you're a pessimist you can only be proven right or pleasantly surprised. Pretty easy way to navigate life.

You have a head start in the grieving process. Ask us in two weeks.

You hire people based on resumes.

His is terrible, he has failed countless times and almost everywhere he has been. As fans of a big time program, we wanted a proven hire. We expected a proven hire considering how important this hire would be for Les going forward.

Of course I want the guy to succeed, but to expect the fans to not be pissed over this hire is ridiculous.

Once it settles down a bit, people will be more supportive and all that. But the hire just happened a few hours ago.

And I think the time it took to make a hire, the names being thrown around as being interested, and the buildup just had people expecting something more with this hire.

But I do think the criticism of the hire is warranted.

I'm bowing out of this place where I've wasted a lot of time over the years. It's clear that those in control of the football team don't want it to succeed as much as I do. All of this teeth knashing is a waste of emotion and energy.

I just hope someone in a high position gets rid of alleva and replaces him with a real leader with some football knowledge before we are in the hunt for a new head coach.

Personally I only found about it a couple of hours ago. So I think it is awfully sanctimonious of you to try to tell me how I should feel about it when I am still processing it.

His resume isn't as bad as you are implying. His resume says he has worked for many great head coaches. Lane Kiffen has some bad stuff on his resume. You probably thought Saban shouldn't have hired him.

Me?

I don't fault the man for taking the job. I fault Miles and Alleva for offering it to him.

Everyone will settle down when the shock wears off. I'm still in shock myself, can't believe it.

#1 complaining about a terrible hire.
#2 sucking it up and supporting the program.

Can I get at least one fricking day to bitch about this horrible fricking hire?

It's a good point.

LSU brings a lot to the table. He may be successful here. I'll definitely support him.

Nowhere in his thread did I reference his last three jobs.
