The 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin made an alarming discovery while going through case files set for trial this year. The number of murders has more than doubled.
"I'll just speak to Ascension. One, two, zero, or three murders a year would be an average year. Last year we had eight," Babin said.
Babin said his cases point to something bigger.
"Ascension Parish is not the rural parish that it used to be. We've become urbanized. We are a suburb of Baton Rouge and we are seeing the results."

From ?? to ??
Also, one is a single incident with 3 murders. Kind of skews 8 total when almost half are from one incident.

They went from two or three to eight.
Not saying its great but it's nothing compared to Baton Rouge or New Orleans. I think BR has already hit close to that this year.

You can run but you can't hide.

Number of murders does not equal murder rate.

They wanted growth and they got it.

The article is poorly written, are they talking about the 2012 murders of the marchands or last tears events?

Meanwhile Kennabruh had zero murders in 2014 compared to eight the year before. to KPD.

The difference is that all of the murderers were caught and jailed within 3 days of committing the crime. In Baton Rouge, the police don't even try to investigate it because they are too busy harrassing drunk college students or handing out inspection sticker tickets. New Orleans police let the murdered out after 60 days even if they actually do catch them. AP Sheriffs are among the best in the country.
Also, D-Ville drags our stats down in all the wrong ways.

This.
If you committ a crime that's even noteworthy in the AP, chancres are good that APSO will take a pop at your arse very soon. You know why APSO is so good? I never hear about them fricking up.

Same way Slidell drags down St. Tammany's stats as well.

Who da fuk is "they"? We saw the overflow of E.B.R. trash coming 30-40 years ago and started preparing for it. We never wanted those rats that are leaving that burning ship. We simply can't avoid it.
