19. In 2013 people excuse LSU's underachievement (given the unprecedented offensive talent) by saying it was the defenses fault, and rightfully so the defense was disappointing last year. Problem is, LSU was rated 15 in defense last year. This isn't good guys and Mett, Odell, Jarvis, and Jeremy aren't walking through that door to pick up the slack.

A 19 at Clemson is like a 5 at LSU

The year before he took over Clemson it was 18.

It got worse when he got there

And then got progressively worse each year until he was fired after the West Virginia 70 spot.

Let me tell you a story son. You must be too young to remember but I sure as h3ll remember. When my son was a freshman undergrad, we had Curley flippin Hallman as coach and we got our @sses beat 31-11 to Ala-freaking-bamma !!!! I CAN'T believe how mad are people are getting at Miles! It drives me up a wall! WE need to accept that we will never be as good as some of these other programs and enjoy the character Miles instills in our young men.

Can you compare the talent he had at Clemson with the talent he has now at LSU?

Fair enough point, but he did also go up against lesser competition.

Clemson also has a very different offense than we do and that affected their defensive play.

Ask yourself this, when LSU gets blown out (Auburn and Arkansas 2014), is it because of a failed offense or defense?

Offense.

When we do lose a close game, it is almost always a defensive failure. There are plenty of recent examples to pick from. John Chavis' defenses are very over rated and predictable. Good teams have diagnosed it and they can predict how to counter it in big time series.

My point here is that the LSU defense will be just fine and quite possibly better.
