He fricking coached in the Super Bowl as a DC!!
And was fired after the game. That's weird right? After that he was DC for the Chiefs for just one season. Weird.

the DL coach who is about to leave was just too important to let CP hire his own guy.
So wait, things with Pendergast hit a dead end because of current coaches' contracts needed to be honored, and NOW it looks like our new DC is probably going to fire Haley ANYWAY?! (He's already done it once, correct?)

My dog could have handled this coaching search better than Alleva and Miles and he's currently licking his own a-hole

The story I heard was that he has an ailing parent and wanted to stay on the west coast.

that was NEVER the issue, his sister Carolyn cares for them
He did not come to LSU because LEster never offered him the job PURE and SIMPLE

I heard someone on the radio say that Pendergast wasn't not a "culture fit" with Miles, and I tend to believe that angle.
He's competent and a master motivator. Miles can't have someone who is good and likeable.

Serious question...where will Pendergast coach next? I mean, if he's such a huge defensive 'get', which high profile pro or college programs are currently vying for his services?
I in no way shape or form think that Steele is an awesome hire as LSU's DC (far from it...it is, in fact, embarassing)...however, I remember the name 'Tenuta' and realize that sometimes the one that got away got away because they weren't a right fit (for many programs).
If Pendergast has people fighting over signing him, then shame on us. If he's...not in such demand, maybe there's a reason.

The question remains, if the choice was between the two, how did Pendergast get away from us?

someone did a thread on TD that showed the correlation between recruiting class and finish. There is a very high correlation.
Only a couple of teams won the SEC west without a highly rated class and they had a premier QB. Cam was one.
