Are you not a Garrett fan? Or are you about how much he's getting?

He did well this year, but the previous few years sucked. Hard place to be for the Cowboys.

What leverage does he have. I'm not sure he would be a hot commodity on the market right now. Very average career to this point.

Coach contracts in the NFL are guaranteed.

Garrett has one good year, with a loaded staff and jerry shows him the big money.

49ers are still clueless in their HC search after "knowing" for a year they would need someone.

at Dallas

More power to them, lock up a mediocre coach long term, good for the rest of the NFC East

He made the playoffs, that is the best the boys can hope for. Pay the man.

If he gets 8 million a year, every coach should send him a gift this year as a preemptive "Thank You" for driving up coaching contracts.

It's hilarious how a coach is on the hot seat for 5 years, has 1 decent season, and that somehow turns into a 5 year extension.

You don't have to earn anything anymore

What a dumbass you are. People give up on coaches and players way too soon. Like if you aren't great immediately then you will never get better or improve for the rest of your life.

Anyway, Garret's deal is for 5 yrs and 30M. Not bad considering he's basically the head coach and GM, in which he shares the GM duties with a guy named Will McCay.

Oh and Rod Marinelli just resigned with Dallas to return as Def Coordinator

He did not get an extension. He resigned. Would you have let him walk?
