How much money do you think these guys are pulling in on twitch and other streaming services? I can't imagine they're doing all that well.

well, i'll use the FIFA guy as an example. castro is his name.

he has 3000 subs(@4.99$), that money is split with twitch. he also gets at least 100-200 per stream in donations.

he streams 4-5 days a week, and has turned it into a job.

there is money to be made, you either need fake boobs and play DOTA like the Louisiana bimbo, or you better find a game that is super popular and stream your arse off, and get involved with the subs.

there are streamers with more subs and get more in donations per stream. i lol, but they make good money at it. not all, but those who want it, can do it.

The intelligent ones are the ones who stream on twitch, edit the video, then upload it to their million or so subscribers on YouTube.

I'd like to know how much Vanoss and H2ODelirious make per year off youtube

Way more money than you would beleive.

It's stunning, really.

Between the sub fees, overlay sponsors, youtube ad share revenue from vods, and donations, over 500 a day seems likely

This is for the best players in the world though..not just randoms

I wonder how easy it would be to start a new channel and make an extra 2k per month.

Just like any other form of entertainment you have to have something that attracts viewers. In the case of streaming you either need to be:
1. Really good at the game
2. Have a cleaver gimmick
3. A girl

Good luck with that. I've been streaming for about 2 years and I just eclipsed 1000 followers this past weekend. You need to have roughly 200+ concurrent viewers over a span of about 2-3 weeks to even be considered for partnership via twitch. Granted you can still make money via donations, but even then it would take a long time to develop that type of rapport with your viewers.

The guy i was using as an example does it right, he is involved with subs, gives away a shite load of fifa points and just has fun.

castro1021 i dont play fifa, but his channel is entertaining and is perfect to put on in background while im doing work on computer.

Top streamers make 6 figures easily, on average they make more than pro players do from tournaments, plus twitch actually pays out where as tournaments don't pay out fairly often.

The donations they get are fairly large too, some medium tier streamers I watch who average about 1.5k - 2k viewers per stream normally get a few hundred dollars per 3-4 hour stream in donations. That's 70 - 80k if they do it daily.

The problem is whether or not streaming has a sustainable future. People get dramatically worse at games as they age too, so if you theoretically spend ages 22-35 streaming and then you end up sucking and can't reinvent yourself, what do you have to fall back on career wise?
