After the Sony hack revealed the ugly truth about unequal pay for women in Hollywood, Charlize Theron is taking a stand. She insisted that she be paid the same as her male co-star Chris Hemsworth in their upcoming movie, “The Huntsman.”

Hollywood sources tell Page Six that standing up for her worth paid off for Theron, who negotiated via her agents at WME. She got a deal worth more than $10 million, the same as Hemsworth.

Did you read the story? Whatever agent she had at the time of the original deal managed to get her (Charlize Theron, Oscar winner) TEN MILLION DOLLARS LESS than her co-star. That is almost criminal incompetence.

The Marvel Universe. Being the star in his own superhero series probably helps in all his negotiations.

The one where he is a younger and more bankable star (especially internationally) ... and on the side plays Thor and gets voted sexiest man alive.

Not to mention he is a super nice guy ...... her not so much. She's tired.

Evidently not, since they matched his price.

He's one tenth the actor that she is.

We'll see how is bankability is after this weekend. His movie is opening in fewer theaters than the other two big releases (Paddington and Wedding Ringer).

Why would there be bad press associated with paying someone worth less less?

She should worry less about what she's paid, and more about the acute loss of judgement she's obviously suffering since she's been riding wife beating hypocrite Sean Penn's shriveled beef jerky dick.

That's not what the story says. It says her new deal meant that her income matched Hemsworth's at $10 million +. There is nothing about a $10 million difference in the referenced story.

It's all about what brings in the money. A lot of the people who will pay to see this movie don't care about an Oscar.

Men making more than women usually has to do with the fact that great male actors are more memorable for whatever reason.

Serously? That is such BS.

Put 10 actresses from the 1930s and 1940s up against 10 males stars, and I will almost guarantee most will be able to name far more of the women than the men. I am guessing it will be pretty similar numbers from the 70s and 80- the 2000s.

How about you do that and be proven wrong?

The craziest thing here is that Snow White and The Huntsman earned almost $400mil.
