Why isn't The Walking Dead ever up for any major awards?

Watching the Golden Globes last night made me realize that I never see The Walking Dead up for major awards. Why is that? Is it because it's based on a comic book and there are zombies in it? It's one of the highest rated shows on tv and I think there are a lot of really good acting moments on the show. Melissa McBride was fabulous in "The Grove" episode. I don't get it.

It's not very good.
Don't get me wrong...I watch the shite out of it, but I'm not going to pretend it's well written or well acted. It isn't.
It's fun, most of the time...but that's about it.

The show SUCKS...I had to quit after season 2, maybe early season 3.

I read all of the comics after S2. Carl and Lori are actually tolerable.

I couldn't disagree more. I love the show, but the acting is laugably bad most of the time. Every now and then, the acting manages to be "okay," and that's about it.

you must be joking
I don't know what sort of technical awards the Emmys have (make up, editing, etc), but it could possibly be up for those. As for acting, directing, etc...not a chance

Because in order to win awards, you either have to be on HBO or have the words "Modern" or "Family" in the title.
