Thoughts on Les from an old newspaper friend

I have on old friend who worked in the newspaper business for several decades. When I say "old" I don't mean that we go way back. I mean he's literally old. Like his polyesters are held up by a belt around his waist old. He worked as a reporter briefly but spent just about his entire career on the business side. In other words: he knows everyone.
When Miles first got here and we began to see those incomprehensible halftime interviews I called him up.
I'll never forget what he said: "When it comes to the media Les Miles is the most secretive, manipulative coach we've ever seen at LSU. Don't believe anything he ever says."
My point: I'm not sure. I just had to get this off of my chest. Maybe my old friend really is an old friend now.
Oh, yeah, anything we know about this search is because Les is selectively releasing information. Dude, should be in the CIA.

Miles told us himself he's just being "deceptively honest".
I think he views the media and the opponent on the field as participants in a grand poker game.

Les plays the media (and the fanbase) like a fiddle and I'd bet he loves every minute of it.

I get engaging in disinformation in an effort to maybe get a competitive edge on the opposing team. However, you have to feed good info on occasion to keep the opposition guessing which info is good and which is bad...
