League Settings Survey

If you are interested, please fill out the survey above. We will use it to track who is interested and setup basic league settings before enlisting owners.

Thanks

Barry

Fee:$150 ($200 led votes, but more people suggested 100 or 150. I'm thinking $200 for the first two seasons or $150/year)
Teams: 20 (we won't force it though, but I think we will be able to find 20)
Scoring: H2H
Draft: Snake
Website: CBS (with our size and league requirements we won't have a lot of choices)
Minor League spots: 10
**If we do 5x5
Hitting Cats: R-NSB-HR-RBI-OPS
OPS-OBP-TB all got strong support, if we did a 5x5 I think it would be above, we could talk about a 6x6
Pitching cats: QS-NS+H-WHIP-K/9-ERA
Holds got strong support and with the mechanics of a 20 team league I think you can't have saves as its on category. If we stay 5x5 then I think it needs to be Saves plus holds. It hasn't been determined if you can do net saves plus net holds.

In the scoring section if we wanted to go 6x6,I like what the "mans league" of the ESPN fantasy baseball podcast uses, except use saves+holds(I don't like saves as its own cat when 30-40% of teams will be forced to punt the cat). IP is an interesting one to use and adds some level of strategy. Like in real life the longer your starters go the better.

R HR RBI SB OBP SLG IP QS SV+H ERA WHIP K/9

I did the survey

I also wrote in about possibly using Holds instead of WHIP. A good ERA usually means a good WHIP, so it's kind of redundant in a way to me. In a deep league, Holds would allow RPs to carry more value, especially if each team has 3 RP spots. Holds could be worth .5 or something, that way closers are still more valuable. Just a thought and not a deal breaker, of course

I agree. I would like to get holds into the mix somehow.

I play in a league where holds are used as a category. It definitely puts a new spin on things. I also requested that it be a category, but I like 6x6 instead of 5x5.

I like the idea of getting Holds involved. I'd rather be 6x6 and keep WHIP though.

I also like Tristan Cockroft's preferred 6x6 cats and we could doctor it to use Saves + Holds instead of Saves.

I'd like to way in on this:

S+H-BS

Or go 6X6, but WHIP cannot come off the table - it's too important.
