Tipping my barber

So I pay for a haircut and my wife says I should tip the barber, stylist or whatever. The wife says, "she has to by her own beauty products". I don't use any "products", she just cuts my hair. She owns the shop and doesn't rent a chair.
I tip food servers and bartenders, but they make 1/2 of minimum wage. The barber gets a set price to cut my hair. I paid her $16.00 and it took 20 minutes.
What says the OT?

I think it's customary to tip if they don't own the shop, owner gets no tip.

I always tip a few bucks. I dont know why, but I feel like its expected. Besides you're only paying $16, just make it a flat $20. They appreciate it.

For some people a haircut is like therapy. For me, it's just cut the hair and get me outta here.
