Today is our 18th wedding anniversary. It's also the last weekend of rifle season where I hunt. She told me to come to camp for weekend for two reasons: 1) I hadn't killed anythjng this season (took care of that yesterday) and 2) I haven't been able to hunt with my Dad this season due to his work.

She's quite the catch. :cbs:

The first 5 or 6 years we would forget every year. It turned into a game to where we would see who would remember first. One time I remembered first two days after.

Good woman. Mine told me last night as she saw me packing a bag "so your kids don't have a father on the weekends?" I told her "only on Saturdays during deer season (and turkey season). It's either this or I move you out into the country where I can hunt in the yard. We can do that and I promise I will get you the nicest single wide available at the next auction."

Pretty sure I lost that argument, but it felt better than saying nothing.

I can go to the camp and you will be mad, or I can stay here and we can both be mad.

To hear 34 say that in person is a masterpiece.

Glad to hear there are other rational people out there.

I've never understood how people let the dates on a calendar dictate so much of what they think they HAVE to do. I've always said that ANY time you can spend time with family for meal, etc. is special. Does not have to be on a date designated on a calendar and okay if NOT with family on THAT day.

That would be pretty hypocritical of most of us. We have certain opening days that we won't miss. Opening weekend of dove, duck, deer, turkey, whatever it may be.

apples and oranges my friend. We can share a meal with family on MANY days but only hunt a few designated BY LAW. Call me if you need and I'll bail you out.
