This spring and recruiting season will be interesting with a new DC. we have 1 DE committed, 1 leaving early for the NFL, no DT or LB committed. Looking to next fall:

Rush DE
Tashawn Bower - Jr.
Lewis Neal - Jr.
Sione Teuhema - Soph

DT
Christian LaCoutre - Jr.
Travonte Valentine - RSFR
M Bain - Soph
Daylon Mack - Fr. (maybe)

DT
Davon Godchaux - Soph
Q Thomas - Sr.
Frank Herron - Soph
Greg Gilmore - Soph

Strong DE
Deondre Clarke - Soph
Isaiah Washington - Fr.

Mike
Kendall Beckwith - Jr.
Clifton Garrett - RSFR or Soph?

Sam
Lamar Louis - Sr.
Ronnie Feist - Sr.
Donnie Alexander - RSFR

Will
Deion Jones - Sr.
Duke Riley - Jr.

Are we actively recruiting any LB?

Hopefully we can move a tackle to defensive end. I think we'll need the depth.

We don't even have a DC. We're not sure if we're running a 4-3, 3-4 or even a 4-2-5.

While we have recruited at an elite level at skill positions, the LOS recruiting in terms of overall depth and quality has not been elite. We are thin.

True, but the DL class for 2016 is SICK!!!!

Several players who could make an immediate impact.

I would feel a lot more confident if we had a couple more defensive ends.

Too me the most important need in this class is Defensive end ×1000!!

We have two visiting on Jan. 16th but neither is a strong possibility (Sh'mar Kilby-Lane & Roquan Smith). If they actually show up for OVs, you never know. Right now, Kilby-Lane is an FSU commit and all signs point toward Smith to Georgia.

There is an in state player from New Orleans, Arthur McGinnis, who has interest but no LSU offer yet. My guess is he gets offered after the 16th and commits on the spot.

I can with 100% certainty tell you we are definitely not running a 3-4 anytime soon with only 7 LBs on the roster next season.

Also, Lorenzo Phillips may be transferring back to LSU after shoring up grade issues in JUCO. That would be huge.

We are losing at minimum 3 LBs after 2015, likely 4 with Beckwith declaring early. We only have 7 LBs for next season too.

LB was a decent need in this class and we havent got any for some reason. I guess they plan on loading up big time for 2016 and just having a very young LB corps. IMO we have got to get at LEAST 1 LB in this class, I hope it's McGinnis, but the coaches just dont seem interested.

Correct. Making a transition to the 3-4 would require new personnel and 3 or 4 years of recruiting. I would assume LSU is not interested in 3-4 DCs.

Yes. Two to play two, pretty sure.
