Loved every bit of it.

I can't fathom the hate for the finale. Regardless, I've no idea why I waited so long to check it out.

Yeah. And IDGAF what the writers said after the fact.

They all died in the plane crash. I can devise of no other way to put it all together. The idea that the first 5 seasons "really" happened is silly to me.

For example, one supposedly "unanswered" question is "why were pregnant mothers dying" and I think that is answered by the idea that the island was a type of purgatory from the outset..

Probably. I don't have much in the way of a nostalgia gene.

But, I did enjoy it.

Well you are completely and utterly wrong. There really isn't a debate about it.

Christian says, SPECIFICALLY, in the finale, they did not die.

Well, there isn't. They were incredibly clear about it on the show.

Everything on the Island happened. The "Flash Sideways" in the last season was "Purgatory". They all died at separate times.

Jesus frick you're wrong. Hell in the finally he even says everything that happened to you is real.

One of my favorite shows of all time, you may need to watch again though.

Somehow, I knew that would rile some up.

Like I said, there are many things to argue about on this show and dissect. This is not one of them. The spell it out.

I disagree. But, I mean, it's not going to ruin my day. I know what the accepted dogma is.

I'm sure the finale is easier to digest if you binge watch it. But if you'd been watching the show as it aired and waited six years for resolution to plot points that never came, you might be quite disappointed.

I've always said on it's own, it's a pretty good episode. But as the finale to six-year journey of characters and storylines, it was underwhelming.

Jack Shephard: Are you real?

Christian Shephard: I sure hope so. Yeah, I'm real. You're real. Everything that's happened to you is real. All those people in the church, they're all real too.

Jack Shephard: No. They're all... They're all dead. I'm dead. You're dead.

Christian Shephard: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some... long after you.

Jack Shephard: But why are they all here now?

Christian Shephard: Well, there is no "now", here.

Jack Shephard: Where are we, Dad?

Christian Shephard: This is a place that you... that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people on that island. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack. You needed all of them, and they needed you.

Jack Shephard: For what?

Christian Shephard: To remember. And to... let go.

Jack Shephard: Kate... She said we were leaving.

Christian Shephard: Not leaving. No. Moving on.

Jack Shephard: Where are we going?

Christian Shephard: Let's go find out.

The bolded part is the most important part.

They didn't die in the plane crash. Period.

That show.......jesus. I've never been so frustrated in my life after devoting all that time and energy.

I feel like they ran out of ideas and thought.....well, hell, lets go sci-fi.

Well then, you're an idiot, since the series itself point blank tells you that.

The Incident caused it, so it was addressed.

From the finale:

quote:

Jack Shephard: Are you...are you real?
Christian Shephard: [Laughs] I sure hope so. I'm real, you're real, everything that happened to you is real. The people in that church, they're real.
Jack Shephard: And everyone else, they're all dead too?
Christian Shephard: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some before you, some long after you.
Jack Shephard: Are they all here now?
Christian Shephard: Well, there is no 'now' here.
Jack Shephard: Where are we, dad?
Christian Shephard: This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack. You needed all of them and they needed you.

So explain to me, genius, how did some die before and LONG after Jack if they all died in the crash?

Christian also said HE was real and we know he wasn't. He's dead.

I took that to mean that "of course purgatory is real". I mean, it IS.

quote:

Christian Shephard: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some... long after you.

Not everyone in the room was on the plane.

quote:

Christian Shephard: This is a place that you... that you all made together so that you could find one another. You needed all of them, and they needed you.
I view this as confirming the Island is a "construct" of all of those souls that needed to move on, each needing each other to do so. Hence, that was the most important time for them.
