Just moved into a new house two weeks ago, and I may have messed up one of my heaters. it worked fine until I tried installing a Nest thermostat.

I attempted to install my nest on the system for my bedrooms. It's a little electric older system (1997/98). Nest said the thermostat would work with wires W1, Y1, G, and RH. I hooked it up and tested everything and it worked fine. I knew I had one gas heater so I made a mistake and thought both were gas. I set the Nest to gas heat. Pretty sure it worked that night. The next morning, I woke up and the thermostat said it was heating, but nothing was blowing out the vents. This is when I started exploring and realized the back unit was electric. I changed the setting on the Nest and it was working. I wake up the next morning and Nest is telling me their is no power to RH. Nest dies during the day while I'm work. Come home and discover the breaker flipped. Decided to pull the Nest and put the old thermostat back for now. Reset the breaker. Now I'm getting power to the fan and A/C, but not the heater. Looked around the air handler and located the fuse. It still has continuity.

It's a Trane TWE042C140B1. Any other easy things to check?, or did I likely fry something in the heater? Thanks for help or suggestions.

Mine just got "repaired," flame sensor needed to be cleaned. Cost me $85 yesterday. Very worth it

ETA: Obviously no help to you, but it may help others reading.

Well is rh hooked up? You also have to go up and check the wiring on the unit

Yes, I think the breaker was the only problem with no power. I checked the wiring where it is spliced coming out of the unit. RH to G and RH to Y1 show 26 volts. RH to W1 doesn't get anything.

ETA: the AC and fan work fine.

We've survived with a little ceramic heater last night in the bedroom.
