Why is there such an urgency to hire a dc?

It's been what a week since the tigers played against nd. I'd prefer that les uses a little more time and logic to hire someone who can deliver yet someone who wants to be here. Unfortunately our fan base is one that isn't appeased easily

Not sure you fully grasp the recruiting aspect of having a DC in place... especially being that it's crunch time in the recruiting game.

It's called no big name wants to come here bc of the Miles clause. Same reason Chavis jumped ship.

We will end up with brick and a no name DL coach.

we know, for a fact, that this has been on every offered contract?

or are you just talking out of your arse, like most on this board?

Iman Marshall scheduled his OV and Arden Key decommitted from USCe AFTER Chavis left.... and its a dead period.

Uncertainty breeds fear.

You think that every top high school football player knows who the best defensive coordinators are? I don't think so at least not all of them. You're giving too much credit for thinking these kids are that smart. At the same time a good recruiter can get anyone. Great facilities and atmosphere can help as well. Whatever happened to old man Nader

I don't think you understand the possibility of a coaching job at lsu although high isn't as prestigious as the value that many zealot fans think it is.

I don't see why they'd remove it if they didn't want to remove it from Chiefs.

Also, they want to retain all assistants. Most big names will want to bring in their own people.

I don't believe LSU will hire coach O.

and if people are really that worried about recruiting, why are they freaking out so much about Brick possibly being the new DC?

most of the recruits already have a relationship with Brick

It affects recruiting and guys on the defensive side who only have about six days or so to decide whether they come back or not. These guys want to meet their DC, know how they fit into the scheme, among other things. Same for recruits and early enrollees. That's why we lost Kyle Phillips, one of the top DE in this class

And Daylon Mack dropped his visit here and specifically said losing Chavis was it for him, otherwise he would have come here.

We lost Kyle Phillips to Tennessee who was coming here with Ugo Amadi.

Xavier Lewis is once again shopping hard, this time possibly to A&M (go figure).

I could go on, but hopefully you get losing the best coach on the staff and not hiring one for a while is a big time negative.
