Not trying to look ahead or anything because we have a great team this yr! But with blakeney and Simmons coming next year, just how good can this team be? Considering we loose martin and Mickey to the draft, the only problem I'd have is our front court! Hopefully Elbert and epps could develop over the year but both look to be very raw as of now. Also would we be ranked in preseason?? Some are saying top 10, but I guess that also depends on how we end this year. It would be nice to be ranked and be noticed by the country and show how well johnny is doing with the program

Jaquan Lyle should join Tone and Simmons in this years class. He graduated last year and was a top 50 player but went to prep school in Florida for the year. He is a 6 foot 5 inch combo gaurd.

I think there is a strong chance LSU is ranked initially next year in basketball.

Simmons is 6'10" - I guess that's not considered big anymore? Based on what I've seen he should be able to play the 2,3,4 or 5 with his natural spot being the 3.

This team will make the tourney. I had a dream they made it to the second round against Duke. Tigers win in OT 104-100

No. He is not a 4 or 5. Not strong enough. Not even close not natural position. It will hurt him playing him there. This isn't lebron playing 4. It's a hybrid of lebron with Durant size kinda

HE can absolutely play the 4. More natural of a 4 than a 3 but developing towards the 3 long term. He's got great footwork in the post, can pass out of it, and 100% can defend the low post (likely better than against a 3).

You don't think Durant could be successful playing the 4 in college today?

I think he can play 1-5. Developing all his skills at different positions will add value to him.

Being able to play multiple positions is very important in the NBA. Garrett Temple still says that is why he has stayed in the NBA so long; he can play multiple positions.

I think his position at LSU will be similar to Martin... He will play 3-5 depending on who's on the court. All three spots will help develop his game for the NBA.

I believe a player who has been in the NBA for seven years and won the MVP would do alright as a 4 in college today....

As would most reasonable basketball fans. I'm just not sure why that poster would think that a "hybrid of Lebron with Durant's size" would be solely regulated to playing the 3 in the modern college game.

Simmons would wreck people's shite next year at the 4 if that ends up being the situation.

I've watched just about everything I can find on Simmons on YouTube, and in the one year we will have him I think it will be special. What if Mickey and Martin both came back?

Agreed, It seems the only thing we're missing from this years team and possibly next years is a true 5. Robinson has the size, if he can develop and control the paint we will have a very special team.
