Theory: Miles wants Brick Haley DC

Let's say Miles wanted to promote Brick the entire time to DC and bring in Orgeron. There is no way the fan base or the AD would accept this if Miles didn't pull out all the stops before circling back to Brick. Why has Brick stuck around throughout this entire process? It seems he could have moved on with Chavis or jumped on with someone else if he was getting passed over. There is something keeping Brick around and Miles just so happened to miss out on another DC making $600k tonight?
Something isn't right about this entire process. Miles or his agent leaked the Stoops interview knowing the SOB could never be on his staff. The fan base and even Miles hates the Stoops brothers. I think Miles believes Brick can do as good of a job as Chavis did but needs another recruiter on the ground with him (Coach O). Still, Miles has to go through the motions to be given the okay to promote Brick though.
Miles wants Brick as his DC. Why would Brick just accept being passed over and staying on the staff under a new DC?

What exactly are his other options? No one is knocking down LSU's door for him...

What is it with LSU fans and the conspiracy theories yall come up with about the football program?
You want to know what is keeping a Brick Haley around? That contract he signed last month.

So, Miles had to give the illusion of a debacle of a coaching search so that he could hire someone that wouldn't have been accepted otherwise?

I bet you Brick is the DC...

Why doesn't Chavis want Haley?
People are saying they were real close. You mean to tell me Chavis never mentioned a word to a protege who he coached and hired that he was going to aTm?
Gimme a break.i think Haley may be waiting to see if he does get this job. If he doesn't, he may bolt.
We just gotta wait and see.
It would be dumb for miles to be trying to do all these interviews if he just wanted to promote brick. Miles doesn't give a shite about what the fans want. He proved that every week by not playing Harris. So why would he put on a dog and pony show "for the fans"?

If that's the case, then good luck to Miles and Alleva. They'll need it and so will LSU.

Because he signed a new contract before Chavis left.

Imagine the reaction if Miles announces Brick as DC the day after Chavis leaves?
What would the reaction be?

quote:I believe you might have over thought this whole sneaky pull one over on the administration and fanbase theory by the cunning and clever Les Miles.... No need for it if he wanted to hire Brick he would, Miles has enough say in the decision to hire who he wants as his assistant coaches.
Why would Brick just accept being passed over and staying on the staff under a new DC?

Yeah. The botched search false narrative is much more of a winner.
I think Haley is going to be the DC. But, it's not because of some grand plan to make it happen. It's because Miles, who is solely responsible for making this hire, has been unable to find an outsider who he thought was an upgrade...and who would take the job.
Miles failed in this search. And, because of it, if this hire looks like it's going bad, the plug needs to be pulled on Miles himself.

You actually believe Miles can't find a DC for 1.3 million?
Come on!

If it was a given that it was Brick why wait this long to announce. What is gained by waiting?
Posted on 1/8/15 at 12:43 am to GWfool
Because Miles will say he knew Brick was ready but felt he needed to vet more candidates. All along he felt Brick was ready after working with Chavis for so long etc..
Hiring a new DC is a process blah blah blah

Who the frick offers contracts to defensive assistants before the Defensive Coordinator is signed sealed and delivered?
