Why freak out over not having a DC yet?

With a dead period until the 15th, there's no contact anyways with recruits right? As long as we get the right coach in place by the end of the weekend will be fine!

Ive been refreshing this page for a week and a half now! Just hire someone so I can go back to my normal life! I haven't eaten in like 4 days, I'm starting to get woozy!

I'm sure Les will find the best dc that will fit our style of defense that we run!!

Seems like the rule is contact with recruits is allowed if they initiate it, for the most part.
But I do believe it is important that the right choice be made--it is vitally important that a good DC be in place in plenty of time to impact the very strong 2016 class. Even if it means no getting the right DC on board by the 15th, but I think LSU can do it, especially if Shoop is the choice.

Yes, you got me there. A few minutes after I posted that, I read the news about Shoop remaining at Penn State.
But I still think an effort should be made to find the best DC possible.

This makes no sense. The style of defense we run is the style of defense the DC knows and runs.

LSU ranks at the top in salaries for football position coaches. Now it appears the AD is pinching pennies while there's a clause in Les Miles contract that is handicapping the search for DC.
It appears LSU isn't as attractive as the fans believe.

Think it's now officially time only thing I see is brick DC and with any luck orgeron comes on as DL but that still isn't very promising in my opinion

Recruiting is why. Any defensive player that may be interested in LSU is going someplace else. Recruits want to know who will be the DC. If we get an attractive hire, maybe a couple of on the fence recruits come to LSU.

So "pinching pennies" huh? How about you add a few bucks to supplement the position? I'm sure the humanities professor is kicking in a bit of his salary.
