Would prefer to see him go back to The Netherlands or to France. But, if that isnt possible and MLS is where he's going:

Orlando City please.

Barring that, Portland is good. TFC is not.

This sucks. Happy for Jozy and USMNT, but sucks it didn't work out with my favorite player at my favorite club.

Jozy is a real cool person but honestly, he's been shite for 2 years. Sucks for him. He'll never make it in a top league and that's okay. Good for him seeking a move to get paid out the arse tho. Doesn't deserve it but neither did Dempsey and Bradley. But that's okay. MLS has to pay ridiculous bucks to get mediocre players. Wish that was spent on academies and not players like Obafemi Martins, Dempsey, Jozy, Sacha,an overpriced Gerrard, Villa, and whatever shite/past his prime European player is the flavor of the month.

I don't even think Jozy is good enough for an upper table Championship side like Derby County and so on. But it's all good son. Get paid.

Investments in players like Villa, Gerrard, Beckham, etc., puts butts in seats. Butts that pay for those seats. Which helps grow the sport. As cool as academies are, they aren't going to build the fan base and provide an immediate source of interest, and therefore revenue. Dempsey and Bradley get paid that much because they sell buttloads of jerseys and put butts in seats.

And I disagree about him not being good enough for the Championship. Holland is a better league.

I can appreciate the point someone made the other day about how Jozy uses his size to his advantage, and how his touch is bad. That's maybe why he was more successful in Holland - he was able to better use his best asset. Prem is a more athletic league, and this partially negates his strong suit.

ETA: TFC should offer Sunderland a straight swap of Defoe for Josmer. Best case scenario for all parties involved, IMO.

Wait, huh?

2013 was like his best year ever as a pro.

Let him go to NYRB and have that Princeton volunteer coach him up.

They can't

MLS owns Defoe and MLS is a bitch to negotiate with.

Also add the fact MLS paid big bucks for him. Much more than what Jozy is worth. They will want their money back. Defoe has expressed no interest in playing for Sunderland.

Basically Leicester and QRR.

Not in this market is the point. Just like the BPL puts a premium on English talent, MLS does the same with American talent

Difference is the level of talent. Going back to the MLS has not helped either of their careers. All it did was get their pockets fat( more power to them).

Now it makes these guys almost not even worth trying to buy.

Yes, and MLS should pay the best American players above what they'd get elsewhere. It makes good business sense. It's an American league, and they want the best American players as their brand.

I really think a smart Leon Osman signing would move the needle for the American soccer consumer in a place like Salt Lake City. Moreso than some "Michael Bradley" or "Jozy Altidore" ever would.

Altidore seeks Clint Dempsey-level money - $5-6M a year, sources say - to return to MLS. Then there's a transfer fee

Good for Jozy. A precedent has been set. Either ask for it or go to France or Germany where you know there is interest.

That is like good forward money

3 million a goal (if he goes to a team with good service)

If he ends up in the MLS a, guys like Rubio, Boyd and Bacon will be licking their chops for the starting job.
