Multiple sources tell me Jozy Altidore and @MLS are in discussions about his return this winter with 3 teams applying. #TFC #RBNY #POR

Jurgen is punching babies.

I'm sure Jurgen is okay with this one. Jozy just needs to play.

Doubt it. He has been making it a point since the beginning of 2014 on how proud he is that Jozy is sticking it out at Sunderland despite facing hardships.

Maybe he can convince Jozy to go sit the bench in Bundesliga IX. "For his development."

I mean, you thought he was going to fricking Chelsea.

We give TT a lot of shite on here – and rightfully so – but he has been on point as a news breaker.

I was joking on the chelsea post. But Jozy going to MLS seems a little hard to believe.

Lillie and one team from germany have also sent in a bid for altidore.

Good for Jozy. He is not good enough for a top European league.

Why?

He's not playing in England and would command more money stateside.

This is Dempsey and Bradley all over again.

I think he would be fine in a mid tier bundesliga side

the style of play there suits him much better

Because of the amount of rumors and reports of possible tranfers...it could happen, I think he has a better chance of going to another team in a euro league. At the age of 25, he could play in europe until the next WC and easily get a big contract coming back to the MLS.

But we'll see. I just hope he doesn't come back only for a big pay day.

MLS would be dumb to pay him anything well over his market value.

Well, when it comes to paying players... Lets just say a precedent has been set.

O I know and I think its absurd

The MLS really didn't do its self any favors setting that standard. Now any half decent player from Europe will demand big bucks.

Yeah, why would an American team (league) pay a large sum to one of the most recognizable American players, who (in theory) can score goals, and happens to be 25 - where he could have some resale value if he performs? It would be especially foolish for a team like RBNY, being near his hometown and in desperate need of a star attraction.

That doesn't make good business sense at all.

A savvy business owner would overpay for Bobby Wood or that kid from the NASL.

Sources tell our @SoccerByIves that the New York Red Bulls are closing in on move for Sacha Kljestan.

There goes the one American that consistently plays in the Champions League. Wasn't Jurgen tweeting about that last month?

Hes not worth 4 or 5 million a year, just like Dempsey and Bradley are not worth 8 a year.

If the MLS pays him that much his re-sell value will be nothing b/c no European club will pay that for him going into his late 20's with those kind of wages.

What resale value? If he goes back to the MLS, he's never going to get bought by another English club, and his probable MLS salary will price out everywhere else.

He's almost 30 so it makes sense on his end to end his career at home with a nice dp contract making more than he does overseas.
