Nobody knows. There have been about 6 different "favorites" so far in a week. I think most of it is just people blowing smoke.

You really should stop thinking, or at least stop posting this silliness. You sound like a child.
The DC position at LSU at this time is a very autonomous one. The DC basically has free reign. CLM has very little (near no) involvement in the defense; therefore, he needs to make sure the person he hires and the scheme they plan to use is complimentary with the type players (size) we have otherwise the D takes a step back when we cannot afford to have that happen.
He likely wants to ensure his hire can maintain consistency, and if the DC philosophy does change (requiring a different type player) he wants it to be gradual. This timeline is because this is what CLM wants--it has nothing to do with anyone not wanting the job (talent, $$, and autonomy).
There will be a hire before the dead period ends.
