Spurs were up 3 with about 10 seconds, foul Meeks with 8 seconds. He nails 2. Duncan throws ball away on following in-bounds, and Jennings drives and hits a runner off the backboard at the buzzer to win the game.

More fuel to the "do you let them shoot the 3" fire.

But how 'bout them Pistons, winning at SA, 6-0 since Smith was released. Drummond beasting again with 20 and 17.

Well that was dumb. You don't foul so early. It's a play to prevent the last second shot.

I agree, I understand under 5 seconds fouling, but 8 is an eternity in the NBA.

At least Van Gundy knows what to do with .1 left.

There should be no fuel to the argument that you let them shoot 3.

The strategy won't work every time. But it's always a better play than letting the other team get a shot off from 3.

That's seriously insane. I knew that he was bad, but they're 6-0 without him (11-23 total) and Houston is 3-4 with him (23-11 total). At least Dwight has a friend, doe.

Wow, so it didn't work one time.

I can provide hundreds of game-extending 3pt shot examples where the losing team should've fouled.....but instead they didn't, game got tied-up, and then they lost in overtime.

Glad you don't need a physical ticket for betting NBA season over/unders from my local bookie b/c I'd have ripped up my Pistons over 34.5 wins about a month ago

My Bucks/Hawks overs are locks
My Hornets / Pistons overs are on the bubble
My Twolves over is toast
My Nets and Suns unders are on the bubble

It's definitely surprising, but Detroit has talent.
