Looking for a place to send the future little one (will be 4 months old) next August. May go with the nanny in home route but for now thinking of day care options as well.

Anybody got a suggestion, so far the list is:

Little Red Cottage (most expensive and probably waitlisted)

St. Louis King of France (bucktown)

La Petite Development School

Metairie Ridge

Carriage House Lakeview (kind of out of the way)

St Louis is good. Need to get on list.

Carriage House only takes up to 12 months, so then you have to find a program to take them after whcih can be difficult.

Metairie Ridge is fine for infants, but not as great in terms of child development for toddlers.

Also look at Mt. Carmel and St. Paul's.

Is this about the same price as Mt Carmel? I cannot find their prices on their site.

Thanks for the info on all the other schools!

Little Red Schoolhouse is just ok. I hear good things about Metairie Ridge. If you can swing it then at home nanny is vastly superior to any of these options, but you probably already know that. When old enough, look into the Little School at St. Martin's Episcopal Church on Met Rd. Incredible nursery/pre-K program.

True...you have to be well connected or an MCA teacher to have your baby guaranteed a spot there .
