Lions can save 1.7M by cutting him this off season. Even when healthy he has been on the backseat to Bell all year. I feel he would be a solid addition at the right price to rejuvenate his career and bring the spark back to the New Orleans backfield. He turns 30 this year, and I fell like his game has changed for the better since leaving New Orleans. If anything he could put a jolt into the special teams....Thoughts?

Only if it's at a bargain price. He'd be an immediate upgrade over Cadet who runs with blocks tied down to his feet.

Still has problems staying healthy and still likes to dance around too much.

I want to sign Jaquizz Rogers

I'd put the ceiling at $2.5 million/year - $3 million year.

If under that, absolutely. I'd honestly rather have a Reggie, Khiry, PT backfield than paying Ingram $3+ million

Robinson/PT can share the every down load, and Reggie gives us the utility back that Payton loves

I'm down.

Since Sproles left we have been missing that elusive RB presence in the backfield.

I'd sign him for the right price. We shouldn't invest too much in a 30 year old scat back that has injury issues all the time.

Let's do it.

He did say he wanted to stay with the Lions, if that amounts to anything.

I won't deny that, but with the way we use RB's it's not like he'd be a bell cow. He'd probably have spot duty at best and certainly in on passing downs.

It was pretty damn clear this year we need an effective receiving back to keep this offense rolling.

We have a screen RB who is better than Bush. Any FA will be better between the tackles than Bush. As to special teams until CSP fires dipsh!t the ST unit will be a non factor.
I would rather spend the $3.50 on ANY one else. I just don't see him bringing anything to us at 30. (loved the bat back in the day though).

There are more routes a RB can route out of the backfield than a screen. Also, it would be nice to have 2 capable receivers in case of injury like this year

Reggie, contrary to the belief of Saints fans, was effective between the tackles and struggled when running the toss to the outside.

He was also great near the goalline

Bring him in too. We can get 2 running backs for the price of Ingram

Our offense got a little predictable with Sproles in the final year. Reggie can actually line up at WR. Dude is incredibly versatile. Injuries are a problem with him, though.

But, man, he still has it.

You think?

It may be because when we lost Reggie, we replaced him with Sproles

When we lost Sproles, we replaced him with Cadet...

Also, I don't think Sproles has any chance of being available.

Why would we want to trade for Sproles back? He costs more now than he did when we traded him away

Just think we try to do better (pray to God) than a RB going into his 10th season and who's avg per rush in 11 games last year was his lowest in 6 years.
Don't care if he came for cheap we need to get younger faster and healthier at running back.

I almost started this post in crunchtime of the Lions/Cowboys game. I couldn't believe they used that scrub #25 over Reggie.
