So we recently got the new 4k UHD Samsung Smart tv and I need some advice. What are your suggestions to ensure I get the most use out of this thing as it is intended? Apps? Streaming? Any suggestions on how to connect it with my Galaxy S5?

Also, with this setup and espn now making their channels available on streaming, whats the best option to cut the cord on my cable provider? We pay entirely too much for cable tv and have been looking for a way out. This tv from what I see may be just that. However i have been hesitant because I am afraid of not being able to view certain channels. Most importantly the SECN. Any thoughts or suggestions?

How fast is your connection? Streaming 4K requires very good Internet speeds first off.

I'm also not sure ESPN streams beyond 1080p at this point.

I wouldn't worry about trying to specifically finding 4k feeds. As you are really only going to find movies.

All cable/broadcast tv is going to be 720p/1080i.

The streaming ESPN channel at best is upconverted.

So, you paid for a 4k TV when there's not much 4K programming and you're worrying about your cable bill ? You should've saved your money, got a 1080 TV and kept cable.

I didn't pay for it. Christmas gift and I don't know much about these types of things that's why I'm looking for advice from those with experience.

Netflix and some YouTube stuff (I think) are really the only ones streaming actual 4k at the moment from what I've heard. Upscaling your cable channels will help some but it still won't be 4k
