Anyone know where a good place to find the Total Offense and Total Defense Ranking of the LSU for the last 15 years?

I'll hang up and listen.

Best I've found, but does not include FCS games. Gives pretty realistic, and folks can't bitch about the cupcakes.

Total Defense:
2014 9

Total Offense:
2014 77

Looks like a manual process...anyone seen another source where it's broken out all together?

So time where Chavis was DC, LSU was 22 or better in nation in total D while being 40 or worse (70 or worse throwing out Mett's year) in total O.

That is yds/game. Look more toward efficiency. Yds/play and what not. We simply will not lead in yds/game running 20% less plays then half of college football. Total yds on defense, while it looks good, will also be less when the defense isn't on the field much. Similar to what we saw this year. This is not to say Chavis has been bad, but those numbers tell only a part of the tale.

That's only 6 years. When are you updating the full 15?

2011 - 2
2010 - 11
2009 - 11

You must also consider competition, though I'm not saying the SEC has had the most prolific offenses during that time. Also must consider other points such as 4th quarter scoring and final drives.

rankings are completely and totally meaningless. quick and easy example:

LSU was 4th in scoring defense this year and 12th two years ago. they gave up 17.5 ppg each time.

another example:

LSU led the SEC in total defense at 316.8 ypg. here's where that exact same 316.8 ypg would rank in the SEC in other seasons:

2013 - 3rd
2012 - 5th
2011 - 6th
2010 - 4th
2009 - 5th
2008 - 7th

we didn't get better than everyone else this year, they just got worse.

rankings tell you nothing, the actual numbers are all that matters.

Thanks for the work Geismar, Offense is abysmal. They need to:

Comparitively speaking I would like to see how the other SEC offenses have faired since 2009? Are we the worst?

Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas.

Didn't bother actually looking up the statistics because there's no way that we're worse than each of those schools.

Venables is the best DC in the country.

If he wanted 1.7 mill then you break open the bank IMO.

Auburn got Muschamp 1.7 mill
Texas AM got Chavis 1.7 mill
Bama got Smart
LSU counters Venables 1.7 mill
