Too early to mean much outside of our OOC schedule and performance is respected more than previous years. The WVU win is paying huge dividends and the guys avoided any truly bad losses (Clemson is bad but not horrible...)

Im still surprised by the lack of attention we are getting in the rankings. I would have thought this winning streak plus the the victory over WVU would at least allow us to crack the top 25.
Excited to watch SEC play and see how we stack up against the conference.

With 351 schools, it is much tougher to get into the top 25 in basketball....
LSU is being projected anywhere from 6 seed to 9 seed depending on who you ask... I think at this point 9 is about right, but if the season ended today I could definitely see us being closer to 6....

What if the 10 teams ahead of us all go 2-0 this week?
We aren't playing some great schedule this week. I want to be in the top 25 because thats the only way ESPN shows your highlights every game, but it could take a while unless others lose.

Very true...didnt think too much into it because im biased ha.
If we sweep this week we should see some love in the rankings and if not a win over Florida should definitely help that out.

LSU received 50 votes in the AP poll this week, which was 29th most and only 30 behind Old Dominion at 25!!!!

We could get passed up by some Big12, ACC types, but overall, SEC came out of conference play with the 3rd best RPI so if we continue to win it should only help.

Key games will be South Carolina with that big win they just had Sat at Iowa St and Arkansas game will be huge for LSU, this was probably the year that would have helped LSU to play Hogs twice. Two games with a struggling Fla team. LSU is not beating UK the one time they play.
Finish #2 or #3 in league they will be dancing. Below that will be tough.

Agreed. The old top 25 in Div. I basketball is really antiquated as for as tournament tracking goes for the obvious reason that there are usually around 100 teams vying for 68 spots. Really should have a top 40 or something close to that as an accurate indicator, especially come February.

I totally agree that a top 25 in basketball is silly. I think a top 50 would be best because it's always approximately 50 teams that get at large bids.

Looks like LSU only plays the best of the SEC once this year. Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Georgia in my opinion. The game against Georgia is huge.
