Georgia Sheriff that disfigured toddler refuses to pay the medical bills

Basically, the person they were looking for didn't live in the home and wasn't there but they did a no-knock raid anyway. In doing so, they threw a stun-grenade through the window but unfortunately it landed in the toddler's crib and fricked his face up permanently and collapsed his lung.
The kid (who is innocent, btw) has undergone a lot of medical procedures trying to repair the damage the best as possible.
The kid wasn't white so a bunch of people from Atlanta went down to Habersham County in protest and apparently that SWAT unit has since been disbanded and I think even the judge who issued the warrant got canned. The Sheriff's office still denies responsibility and the sheriff was quoted as saying he would do it all over again.

Should the county/Sheriff's department pay for the medical bills? What say the OT?

Horrible. The family isn't trying to sue the dept to pay for the medical bills?

They likely will have to take it to civil court. The county doesn't have to pay because there's some Georgia state law that protects police forces from being liable for damages.

Sheriff's dept should have taken it out of the kick-backs and just paid the med bills to shut this up.

If youre going to provide your own incendiary spin, I'd assume you'd have to be familiar with a thing or two about Georgia to be in a position to do so. You not knowing where habersham is in relation to atlanta is not a good start.
