For the people who are hardcore bow hunters on here, how many of yall upgrade to a new bow model every year or two?

Do you sell it as a complete package or keep the accessories for the new one?

I wouldnt think being a hardcore bow hunter has anything to do with how any times or how often you upgrade your bow. If you have a bow that is less then five years old then you arent gaining much by buying a brand new one. Youre throwing money away considering the resale value of a bow that is only a few years old is nothing. I have a 2013 PSE Omen Max and I feel that bow will last me 10 years or more.

I agree I have a 2009 z7 first one I bought and I haven't used it much due to work, but it does everything I need it to do. I was talking to a guy at work that buys a new one every year or two. Seems like a waste of money, could justify it a little more if you don't pick up a firearm all season though.

There are things about my bow that I don't like though, but I'm thinking about changing my accessories on it.

I have some friends that spend ungodly amounts on "upgraded" equipment every year. I think they enjoy the hunt of shopping for new gear more than the actual hunt they make with it.

I have an '09 bowtech admiral that I won't use again since I bought an Excalibur xbow.

I'd like to change out somethings on my bow but I'm also considering getting rid of it and starting from scratch. Guess that's kind of how these AR guys get when they build them.

I really think I'd enjoy getting into a bow only club. Really makes you a better hunter, and definitely more humble. I've missed bow season the last 3 years for turnarounds at the plant so it's collecting dust, need to change that.

I was in one for a while. The most fun hunting I ever had. Will never join anything else unless my son wants to gun hunt.

Even if I could, I would not get a new bow every year. I do not really enjoy the set up and break in. Every 3rd season or when something in particular comes out would be ideal for me. My ancient LX is still a blast to shoot.

I'm still shooting an 07 Ally. Great bow. Granted, if I could afford it, I would probably get a new one every 2-3 years. I'd love to have a specific bow for tree stands and blinds. Maybe even a x-bow ( )for special occasions.

Well, I was assuming no physical issues. I'd have to cross that bridge when I got to it. Had 8 weeks of PT last year and lost the entire '13 season due to right shoulder.

My condolences. FTR, I won't shoot one until I absolutely have to.

I'm not in a club, but our lease is 350 acres and bow only. I love it.

I can't buy a new bow every year. Too expensive for technology that doesn't really advance that fast, and I get used to bows and like to keep them. I don't need to newest best thing. I just like what I'm comfortable with.

ETA: this is my second season shooting a Chill and I don't see myself changing anytime in the near future.

Still shooting my 1998 MQ1.

In the market for a new CA bow, though. Any of you Richie Rich MFers that get a new bow erry year want to sell? 29" draw, Mathew only, please.

I have 28" draw Matthews z7 that I'm thinking about letting go of. The draw length goes with the cam so it would probably be cheaper to change it out on a older one than buy new

Same here.

After three shoulder surgeries,(including a total rebuild of the right last year with a teflon socket and stainless ball that was pounded 5" down into my humerus), I still can't stomach the thought of shooting a crossbow.

Would be like kissing your grandma and she slips you the tongue.
