Awesome movie.

I didn't want to see it, thought it would just be Oscar bait melodrama, but the story is fantastic.

Didn't know a lot of the history about how the Allies cracked Enigma or the Turing Test.

Cumberbatch is a shoe in nomination and will probably be a favorite to win.

Highly recommend.

Not the best story in the world, but the performances had me giving it a 10/10.

Drove over from Laffy to see it. Was worth the drive. Benedict is an AMAZING actor. This guy is going to be ridic if he can keep this up over the course of his career.

I wouldnt be suprised if they let him tackle a big screen adaption of some Shakespeare play here soon.

Now you've gone and spoiled it!

j/k

Highly recommend. Wish they would have recounted how the codes were broken in WWI and the Code that fooled Japan.

I don't know. It WAS a perfectly entertaining film, and yes, it would make a great date movie, but I feel as though it really wasn't that much out of the ordinary- well done all the way around. Everyone talking about how incredible the actors were just has me wondering about the emperor's new wardrobe. I feel as though BC can do sad and soulful in his sleep, and Keira Knightley was especially good at playing Keira Knightley as a 1940s British female mathematician- I seriously can't even remember her character's name, and I just saw in on Christmas Day. Honestly, other than ALan Turing's name, I can't remember any other character's name. I think my biggest problem with it was the fact the endnotes left a sour taste in my mouth as I found them extremely patronizing.

I also thought they completely missed the boat by bringing up the fact that the last half of the war was played out by statistics, but then just left it. What effect that also had on the group's psyche, knowing they were condemning a large number to death. I just felt whenever it had a chance to take an interesting turn, it chose to stay on the path.
