I'm supposed to fly with Delta tomorrow. Got the usual email 24 hours before the flight wanting me to check in and all. I figured I'd do it on the way to the airport tomorrow like I usually do.

Anyway...3 hours ago I got a confirmation of buying a ticket on Monday between the same airports. I go to my skymiles account and the original trip is gone and it says I'm flying on Monday instead. I googled the flight info for my original flight and it says it's still on time and going between the 2 cities.

Did I somehow get screwed or is this a mistake? Does Delta have a 24 hour number or should I go to bed and worry about it tomorrow? I have something I can't miss on Monday.

Thanks and I know it's 3am but now I'm gonna have problems sleeping lol

Just call their customer service line with your order confirmation.

It shouldn't be busy at this time of night and you'll get better answers from them.

How is that stupid? I beat 3/4 of the people that do it at the kiosks and print out their boarding pass.

On the phone now...guy is putting me on hold for like 10 minutes.

Da faq?

Delta is an assigned seat airline. Is he supposed to go online every day to make sure everything is ok?

Well after being on hold for like 15-20 mins they swapped it back.

Don't know what caused it but I'm glad I got it sorted out

Delta customer service has worked great for me in the past. They switched flights for me when i arrived to the airport 5 minutes before the original flight left. That only took like 10 minutes and I was calling in on a Monday at noon. That was because the train I was coming in on broke down like 3 times and I didn't get service. The train crashed a week later. I'm lucky

paranoid about what? It used to make sense when there weren't kiosks and stuff, and you had to wait in line to check in. But now, you can check in at their airport with no wait. I dont see the need to check in early.

I can see two reasons why it's worth it.
1. Some airlines release seats at the 24 hour mark, meaning that aisle or window seat in the front of the plane is now available.

2. If you have status on the airline, upgrades clear at 72, 48, 24 hrs. I'm hoping to get an upgrade when I check in tonight at the 24 hr mark.

You will still miss the confirmed upgrade cutoff, which happens before they open online check-in. If not confirmed prior, you will be on the upgrade list and someone with higher status/fare class can still get the upgrade if they check in after you.

No idea what you did to cause the switch. Glad Delta fixed it for you. Their customer service has always been the best I've dealt with on the various airliens

+1

I travel for work a LOT, and Delta is by far the easiest airline in the world to deal with.
