Do I suck or is the pick and roll absolute trash in NBA 2k15?

I didn't play 2k14, but the pick and roll in 2k13 was money. But it seems like every time I run it in 2k15, either the pick guy breaks late, doesn't break at all, or the screen doesn't even work. I can probably count on one hand how many successful pick and rolls I've run. I know there's an adjustment period for ever new game, but I'm having a really hard time finding what's strong in this game. Shooting is inconsistent, beating your man off the dribble is damn near impossible, and the pick and roll sucks. Screens hardly ever work and dunking was noticeably nerfed. Contact layups seem a bit more successful than in the past, but I think overall this game is just really hard offensively. Am I missing anything?

Its also really hard to pass in the paint, you turn the ball over too much.

You suck.
Jk. It is hard but you get used to it. The screen was basically fake in the last game how easy it was. The only problem I have with it is they set it on wrong side but it still works. Also, run the plays. They work

While I was getting familiar with the controls and physics of the game I set offensive play calling on auto and put on full play art.

I hate how the guy will break to the basket late, and I REALLY hate how terrible defensive players turn into gods defending the pick and roll.
Behind the back is the easiest way to beat someone off the dribble; however, I usually just try to blow them with speed.

Call for a pick then do a hard hesitation move towards the pick causing the defender to run into it then go the opposite way for an open jumper or easy assist.

You can tell 2K is still in a transition period from the older consoles into this generation of consoles.

So is there any cheese this year? What do I need to know to be successful?
And no offense to those who can't play on this difficulty, but I'm talking to those who play on Superstar at minimum. Things that work in All-Star and Pro do not work on Superstar and Hall of Fame.

They put too much crap into it with all of the extra moves. The gameplay from 2k11 was the best ever IMO.

Defense didn't work in 2k11. Way too many contested shots went in. Outside of the complete inability to block from behind and dunks being unstoppable, 2k13 had it right, IMO.

pick and roll works for me and hg on a nightly basis in MyPark. but hey, we are pretty much legends over in Old Town.
pick and roll with the oop finish. pick and roll freeing me up to posterize a big. pick and pop for a quick 3. doesn't matter. set a good pick. make a good pass. pay attention to how the defense reacts. it should be an easy bucket. but you can't run the same damn play every time.
also, OP: the AI in MyCareer does learn if you keep running the same play over and over. so you might want to try something else instead of just cheesing the pick and roll like in 2K14.
I play at SuperStar and HOF level depending on our team's record. (play enough MyCareer and you'll understand why)
