You know Hugo, it's so annoying how you always act above the fray as a so called sensible poster and be a contrarian sometimes.

Trying too hard to be an admin I suppose.

Saints are fricking garbage I don't even see them beating an Arizona team with 0 QBs.

I'd rather have the better pick. Carolina will get trounced next round. As would the Saints.

Saints would get absolutely crushed at Seattle, but it would still be fun. I might have even made the trip.

We got robbed of 3 weeks of playoff-intensity football when Week 17 was rendered meaningless, we lost out on this week's home playoff game, and then we lost out on what... only the 4th or 5th divisional round game in franchise history?

I have no fricking clue how some of ya'll scoff at the idea of a Divisional Round playoff game when we've only made FOUR in our forty-whatever year history. That would have been fun and if you say you'd rather have a 5 or 10-spot better draft pick than I want to punch you in the face.

No shite. The entire city would have buzzing for a week and all week this week too. Instead I'm sitting on my arse watching Sportscenter instead of partying celebrating a likely division win.

Beat a horrible arizona team to get everyone's hopes up only to get destroyed in the divisional round.

No thanks

This team had enough disappointing moments this season to last a while.

And what would have been the point?

First off, we've lost to Arizona when they started Max fricking Hall against us. So losing to Ryan Lindley wouldn't have been a shocker in the least.

Next, do you really think we would have gone into Seattle and won? Seattle would have been licking their chops at us coming in there.

This team sucked, pure and simple. I'm not hating, I'm simply stating a fact, we sucked. Defense didn't give a damn, injuries hurt us, offense was so fricking predictable I get pissed even thinking of it.

Times we won the Turnover battle this season in games that we lost 0-7-2

Quick Stats from a couple games we lost

Matt Ryan 448 yards 3 TD's

Tony Romo 262 yards 3 TD's/Demarco Murray 148 yards 2 TD's/ Saints Turnovers 3 - Cowboys 0

Matthew Stafford 299 yards 2 TD's

Saints Vs SF - 3 Saint Turnovers

Andy Dalton 220 yards 3 TD's Jeremy Hill 152 yards

Cam Newton 226 yards 3 TD's Jonathan Stewart 155 yards 1 TD

Matt Ryan 322 yards 1 TD, 4 Saint Turnovers

Drew Brees has 24 Turnovers on the season

Our defense has the following rankings statistically

31st Ranked Total Defense
30th 3rd Down Conversation Defense
28th Scoring Defense

So to recap in a year where we lost our last 5 homes games, where we love to turn the ball over, and have a defense that gives up a lot of yards, 3rd down conversations, and points...we were going to just waltz into the playoffs and win a game because Carolina did it.....

I'm sorry, but winning a playoff game is much more important that the 13th pick in the NFL Draft - especially when the New Orleans Saints have trouble picking and developing 1st round talent.

Patrick Robinson? Mark Ingram? Kenny Vaccaro? Malcolm Jenkins? Sedrick Ellis? Robert Meachem? Aside from Mark Ingram's 2014 season, Brandin Cooks and Cameron Jordan, wouldn't you take a playoff win over all of the players that have underwhelmed or been busts? Was Kenny Vaccaro benched this year? I know he's graded out pretty badly on PFF.

Trust me, as Denver Broncos fan, I would definitely take a playoff win over drafting someone like Tim Tebow, Jarvin Moss or George Foster...in a heartbeat.

As a Bronco fan you should know that very few teams in the NFL were dumb enough to waste a 1st round pick on Tebow.

The same argument you made could be used in a heartbeat against you...not making the playoffs lead to 1st round picks like Von Miller, Demaryius Thomas, and Ryan Clady

Franchise building core players with the right QB. Half the busts you claim were players taken while hoping to find the right guy. Once you have them you put as much talent around your centerpiece as possible. The Saints do not have the right amount of talent to compete with the teams in the playoffs right now. They are fundamentally lacking from being prosperous in any way in this post season.

A good draft and a proper off season would put the Saints right back in the thick of the NFC chase.

Making the playoffs and possibly lucking into a win would diminish just how crappy this team was all season.

Agreed. I would take the playoff win anyway. It would add to Brees' legacy, which is important. When you have a player of his caliber you want him to get as much success as possible. Plus, you never know what could happen in the playoffs. I do believe they would've beaten the Cardinals. GB orSeattle? Likely not. But it would've been fun to at least see what could happen.

Kenny Vaccaro?

Going to hold off judgement on him for now. He was outstanding as a rookie. He played nickel, safety, corner, even some linebacker last season and was extremely productive. The biggest thing I saw out of him was how sure of a tackler he was. I think the change of scheme and having Byrd miss nearly all of the season seriously hurt not only Vaccarro but the defense as a whole. I do think KV could end up being an elite caliber safety. The defense needs a legit number 2 corner, another OLB and DT/DE, but there is some talent there to flip it around, we saw it happen in 2013.

Basically just taken out of his normal role, given less snaps, moved to more of a nickel player. And yes, he graded extremely poorly on PFF.

How exactly would a home (or away) playoff game vs. ANYONE have been a certain win?
