Applying For License in LA. Help

The SO is from out of state but is permanently relocating here for a new job. She can't find her SS card and online it says you must have it to register for a license here. Not looking forward to spending hours at the DMV and SSA office tomorrow. Is there a way to get proof of social security without having to go to the SSA office?

I know this isn't exactly what you were asking, but Louisiana has private DMVs that can be much quicker than regular DMVs, so make sure to look into that.

No and they don't give you a new one there... they mail it to you.

Don't they give you something that verifies your social security number though? Online it says that you can get a document that verifies your social security.

They give you a receipt, but I don't think the DMV took it.

Not sure what you mean? Yes, she can still use her old license. But, she wants to register as a LA resident for insurance purposes.
