Hopefully we can get back recruiting 235-255 pound LB's that can smother the run up the middle. It's nice having 210 pound lb's that are quick to the outside, but we've struggled against the run up the middle for a while. We need those big guys like we did back in 03

The problem with those big guys is they struggle against spread teams

Undersized DE ends giving up the edge also.

Not to be a dick, but Lionel Turner was the only really big LB on that year's team. Cam Vaughn wasn't huge at around 220, nor was Eric Alexander at 225 and then we had a converted safety Adrian Mayes at around 215.

Jump to 2014. Beckwith was nearly as big as Turner and is faster. Kwon and Debo are no smaller than Alexander and Mayes were. And Welter goes 235 fwiw.

Smaller DE's yeah...but LB's are not much different at all.
