To try and turn this around in a year. Does he sink or swim? He must:

-Find a top notch DC/possibly DL coach
-Salvage this recruiting class
-convince Juniors to stay on top easing the concerns of the younger players on the team
-find a way to fix this atrocious O (esp at the QB position)
-find a way to get through this daunting SEC West without more than one loss with every team improving.

All of those will be no easy task....good luck to Miles on this, he's gonna need it.

I'm ready for a change, even though I know it usually takes a couple of years to incorporate a new coach and system. I'd rather have hope that things will get better than know things will not.

He's finished. He's been in a steady state of decline.

It's selfish of him to do what he's doing to the program.

With some of the laundry coming out, a quick call to Chief will show that getting a really good DC to come here will be tough.

No, his time has come. I respect the man, and I do believe his is a good guy. There is no getting around the fact that there is no way under the sun for LSU to display the type of offensive ineptitude that we currently are seeing. Les will not change the offense. I do not buy into the "we are young stuff." Other teams run freshmen Q B's out there who know what they are doing. If our QB's cannot understand the playbook, that means that they should not have been recruited or that they are poorly coached. Either way it falls on the head coach.

You might as well fire Miles now, then.

It's going to take a couple more seasons to break in a new DC and rebuild the roster.

All you folks saying "Miles has one more season to turn it around" are being delusional. Miles won't win the SEC next year, period. It's going to take a few years for that, if ever.

Well unless he admits he sucks at evaluating the QB position, and does a 180 on offense then no.

That chief didn't want his contract tied to Miles. It makes it look like Miles has at most a year or two nefore he is gone. I also believe this is a situation where more insider information will start to come out.

Well, you've got a QB situation AND you are breaking in a new DC.

That normally does not spell "SEC Championship next season."

The time to fire Miles passed before his new contract was signed. He's going to get a few more years.

Personally, Alleva is a big part of the problem.

"OTHER TEAMS" don't fricking play in the toughest division in the toughest conference in college football!! I don't give a frick what Jameis Winston did last year, he didn't play anyone until he played Auburn and Auburn fricked themselves in the BCSCG last season.

Many simply are not that generous right now.
