Superior Seafood is overpriced and rather boring food wise. Nice atmosphere though. If I was taken there against my wishes but had my meal paid for I wouldn't be upset. Will never dine there on my own volition, though.

Can't speak to Red Maple - never heard of it.

Never heard of this place, but the Yelp reviews are pretty horrible.

Red Maple = Westbank

Superior Seafood = Uptown

It doesn't happen often but I'd go Westbank on this one.

I'm on the Wank often. Red Maple is not particularly good.

Superior Seafood is fine, but nothing special. Its better than Superior Grill, but that's not saying much.

If you must eat on the westbank, go eat at O'Brien's or Banana Blossom.

There are a lot of better alternatives to Superior Seafood, but its really an ok place.

Da Wabbit on the westbank is probably on par with Superior Seafood. Only place I'd give Superior the nod between the two would be on atmosphere.

I've never been to Red Maple because I don't really choose to dine like that sort of place on the westbank.

It's been 3 or 4 years since I've eaten at the Red Maple. Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed.

Tom Fitzmorris LOVES the Red Maple.

I've always wanted to go once just to see why he goes on and on about it.

It's right off the expressway- I've seen it a million times, but never eaten there.

If I cross the bridge, I'm going to China Doll or Pho Tau Bay. Empress of China is decent too.

Used to be ok. New owners, not nearly as good. Same owners as Deanie's

I have a feeling most people who say xyz sucks on this board only went once, had an ok experience, then just say it sucks publicly.

there are so many good restaurants in NOLA, it's damn well possible I will go to a spot one time, not be impressed and not go back…but I won't post the place sucks…I will describe my experience and give reasons why I won't return.

a good example is del fuego, it was really bad the first time I went but has improved dramatically since they opened.

At one time (10-15 years ago) the red maple used to be good. It slowly went downhill though. A few years ago the Deanies group bought it but I haven't been back to try it since that happened. My go to for a nice restaurant on the westbank is O'Brien's Grille.

75% of the time I'm on the W'ank is because I'm going to court in Gretna. I know there are some decent places (primarily Asian) but I don't make it over there that often.

Grew up on the West Bank, never did go to the Red Maple. My daddy's tomb is like ten feet away. My mom goes there regularly and loves it, as do her friends. Of course they're not F&DB impresarios.

I've heard O'Brien's is rather expensive, grew up with her.
